On August, 20th, our family came together to celebrate Mallory's first sacrament in the Catholic Church, Baptism. Father Gregory was very kind and allowed us to have it on a Sunday that is not normally scheduled for Baptisms so that my mom could fly in to be present. We were sad my Dad couldn't make it as he was on a business trip:( As always, Father Gregory made the ceremony very special for us. My younger brother, John, and his wife, Lindsey are Mallory's godparents. She wore the gown that Madeline, Will, and her cousin, Emma all wore. My mom has each name and date of Baptism embroidered on the back.
Here is Father Gregory presenting her as the newest member of our church! Mallory did so well. She was calm and taking it all in. She cried for a moment when the water first touched her head, as it splashed in her eyes just a bit, but calmed down quickly and was so good!
I am so grateful for these family members who were able to make the trip to share this special milestone in Mallory's spiritual life!
Afterward, our family and friends gathered at our house for a little celebration. Will was so excited to get out of his "church clothes" and get to playing. Our friend, Gerry came in to join him for a little while:)
Uncle John, Aunt Lindsey, and little Lucy. She was such a good little traveler for them that day!The "twin" cousins having their second meeting on the blanket:) They've really grown since their first meeting on the 4th of July!
My Grandma and Grandpa Taylor with 4 of their 5 great grand kids. It was impossible to get a picture without someone getting stirred up, so this is the best we could do:)
It was such a special day! We look forward to raising Mallory to be a strong Christian woman who loves God above all else and are thankful to have such a great family and church to help us!
